Which over the counter items need a prescription?

The rules of the game change on January 1, 2011 If you've been receiving money back from a reimbursement account for over-the-counter items, you'll have to play by a new set of rules.

In the past you could pick up aspirin, cough syrup, and some Neosporin and send in the receipt for your Flexible Spending Account or your Health Reimbursement Account to pay you back. Or if you have a Health Savings Account, you just pop the receipt into your "tax file". Now you may actually need a doctor's prescription to get that reimbursement!
